Will California Chrome Be The Horse To Lift Triple Crown?!

Will California Chrome Be The Horse To Lift Triple Crown?!

Just looking at the not so impressive breeding of California Chrome, your answer will not be in affirmative. In simple, California Chrome’s pedigree reads:

Mr. Prospector: 4S x 3D
Raise a Native: 5S x 4D
Gold Digger: 5S x 4D
Northern Dancer: 4D x 5D
Numbered Account: 4D x 4D
Buckpasser: 5D x 5D
Intriguing: 5D x 5D

At the first look, one thing that strikes me is California Chrome doesn’t have those Aristocratic and fancy bloodlines which Kentucky equines supposedly have in its first three generations except Mr. Prospector. But it has all the bloodlines which are considered who’s who of modern thoroughbred breeding, albeit in far away generations. California Chrome has struck amazing form this form should take her home in Belmont Stakes.

California Chrome was bred at a dirt cheap price. It is an outsider, from California. Its veteran trainer Art Sherman is not a trainer who has won many big races. Its breeders and owners were considered as small time racing fraternity. California Chrome’s jockey Victor Espinoza is not a big race winner. If California Chrome wins Triple Crown all these things come true. It occurs to me these kinds of wonders happen in this amazing world.
